Registration for the 2010 annual conference of the BASR is now open. It will be a one-day non-residential conference because of the quinquennial IAHR congress in Toronto. However, if someone requires overnight accommodation before or after the conference, please contact Dr George Chryssides at Birmingham (g.d.chryssides@bham.ac.uk). The programme is now available to download as a PDF file. Click here for the registration form. When complete, please return it (with the fee) to our treasurer, Dermot Tredget. The conference will have four important events: The keynote lecture about New Religious Movements 40 years on given by Professor Eileen Barker; one panel about Religious Identity and Emotion, organised by the BASR president, Professor Douglas Davies, in collaboration with the participants of his AHRC project; one panel of postgraduate students in their final year presenting the outcomes of their PhD research; and, last but not least, the AGM of the BASR. We hope that a large number of members can attend the conference and the AGM. Please contact me (b.schmidt@bangor.ac.uk) if you are in your final year and would like to present the outcome of your research or if you are supervising a PG student who could give a good presentation about the outcome of the PhD research. The BASR offers again a limited number of postgraduate bursaries (but only for the conference registration fee). For travel directions and maps click here for the University's online instructions or click here for George Chryssides' helpful instructions (in a Word document) on getting there - including the actual meeting venue: the Orchard Learning Resources Centre. Best wishes Dr Bettina E. Schmidt
